Cartené Beauty LLC establishment no longer requires the use of face coverings, but you may wear a mask if you prefer. Please be mindful that I service guests of all ages and those with underlying health conditions. The health and safety of my family, clients, and myself is my top priority. Please read the following guidelines below to prepare for your appointment:

  • Please text when you arrive to your appointment and wait in your car, or you can sit in the lounge area. I will let you know when my studio is available for you to come inside.

  • Please refrain from bringing any guests to your appointment - this includes family/children, friends, pets, etc.

  • Please place your belongings on the designated countertops where I am able to wipe and disinfect after.

  • Cash is preferred. I also accept contactless payments. Upon checkout, we will review your profile to make sure a credit card is on file (required) for cancellation purposes.

  • All State Board Rules and Regulations of sanitizing and disinfecting are practiced in my studio every day, and I will continue to upkeep these guidelines. Please allow extra time before your appointment for me to take extra infection control measures due to COVID-19.

  • Soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes are available for you to use.

LATE POLICY

If you are going to be late, please call or text (408) 913 - 3993 prior to your appointment, NOT at your appointment time. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled if you are more than 15 minutes late. If your appointment needs to be rescheduled, a no show fee of 90% of your reserved services will be charged - see CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING POLICY for more details. If for any reason Joyce is running late, she will communicate with you to ensure that you will be accommodated at a given time.

Please be mindful that if we are running late for your appointment, it sets our schedule behind and we will run late the rest of the day for other clients. We understand that there may be unforeseen events that happen throughout the day and we will do our best to accommodate, but please communicate with us. Thank you for understanding.

CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING POLICY

If you need to cancel/reschedule your appointment please text (408) 913-3993 or email info@cartenebeauty.com.
We confirm appointments 5 days in advanced via text and email. You have 72 hours (3 days) prior to your appointment to cancel without charge.

For new clients that are booking color services, a $100 non-refundable deposit and a credit card on file is required to secure your appointment. This will go towards your service.

You have 72 hours (3 days) prior to your appointment to cancel without charge. Cancellations/rescheduling made less than 72 hrs before your appointment will be charged 25% of your reserved services and you will forfeit any deposit that was placed. Less than 48 hrs (2 days) prior will be charged 50% of your reserved services. Less than 24hrs ( 1 day) prior will be charged 75%. Any no shows or cancellations made the day of your appointment will be charged 90% of your reserved services - no exceptions. If there is no credit card on file, I will send an invoice via email. If the invoice goes unfulfilled, reserving appointments will no longer be available for you. Please understand that last minute cancellations and no shows impact small businesses, and I cannot fill your appointment slot with a short notice. Thank you for understanding.

If for any reason Joyce needs to cancel/reschedule your appointment, we will transfer any deposits towards a new scheduled appointment.

NEED TO CANCEL DUE TO COVID?

  • Same day cancellations due to illness or COVID concerns will fall under the 72 hour policy:

  • If you’ve tested positive for COVID, please reschedule your appointment to 2 weeks after, if there’s any availability. I do post last minute cancellations on my Instagram stories (@carteneofficial) so please be sure to contact me asap. A last minute COVID cancellation will result in a cancellation fee. See above for more details.

  • If for any reason I need to reschedule your appointment within the 72hr policy mark due to personal COVID-19 concerns, I will reschedule you at my earliest convenience and compensate somehow. Please keep in mind that I am usually booked 12 weeks in advanced, so it may be hard to make accommodations. Any deposits may be refunded.

  • If you do not have COVID but have a mild cough or congestion, use your best judgement to decide if you want to come in for your appointment, but please wear and mask and let Joyce know. Your honesty is greatly appreciated.

MAINTENANCE POLICY

Please review the following recommended maintenance. My bookings are 3 months in advanced so it is advised to prebook your appointment when leaving the salon.

  • Haircut: 10-12 weeks for medium/long hair. 8-10 weeks for short hair.

  • Toner: 4-8 weeks. -This is super important when it comes to maintenance. For those of you that have bleached hair, your toner will always fade out to be warm (yellow/gold/orange/”brassy”). Prebook your toner appointments to refreshen your color.

  • Single Process: 6-8 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows

  • Balayage: 6-12 months

  • Signature Dimensional Blonding: 8-12 months

  • Money Piece Refresher: 6-8 months

We customize aftercare products to your hair type. Please visit the Services page to view our favorite products. It is recommended to have a regimen of Shampoo, Conditioner, Masque and Leave In Conditioner/Heat Protector. Any drugstore products will change the texture of your hair, strip out your color faster, or dry out/damage your hair. We use professional products when coloring your hair, so you should also invest in professional homecare products too.

PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

If you are receiving a Blonding service, please arrive with your hair down, clean, dry and preferably straight. This will ensure that we can perform your service in a timely manner.

If you are receiving a Single Process (root touch up service) it is advised to not wash your hair at least 1 day prior so that the natural oils can protect your scalp if you are sensitive to the chemicals.

Please allow the following time frames for your appointment:

  • Haircut: 1 hour

  • Toner: 1-1.5 hours

  • Blonding services: 3-7 hours

  • Single Process: 2 hours

  • Keratin Express: 1-2 hours
